Actor/Producer/New Media Maven Signs on to New Fantasy Series

(July 10, 2012) Los Angeles—Stephanie Thorpe (“Shelf Life”, “ElfQuest”, “Night of the Zombie King”) joins the cast of “Legendary: A Tale of Blood and Steel” as Kiera Duende, the Elvan High Priestess, a mysterious and powerful protector of the Elvan race in the forests of Lavornia.

“Legendary”, created byPortland’s J. Lee (Embers of War), begins production inOregonthis fall as a full-scale transmedia project. The series will be enhanced by a highly interactive website, plans for 3 separate novels, several short stories, and a series of comic books, all set against a backdrop of Oregon’s breathtaking scenery (50 horses and 85 acres of terrain on Mckay Creek Stables will make up much of Lavornia’s realm).

Joined by executive producer, Guido Orio (Golden Summit Digital Media), and writer/director Barry Morgan (Koldcast original thriller “Arcana”), “Legendary” has already been hailed as “Game of Thrones” for the online audience, with George R. R. Martin (creator of “Game Of Thrones”) taking notice at a recent convention and filming several promotional spots for the series.

A veteran of the New Media scene, Thorpe comes to the project with a long list of web series acting & producing credits and established connections to the geek community. She is the famed creator of last year’s “ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining”, a celebrated speaker on New Media, and one of the founders of the League of Extraordinary Ladies, a group of 600+ members that fosters connections in the geek community.

Thorpe is thrilled to be joining the cast, and will be stopping by the full scale fantasy village of “Stonefall” in Oregonthis August on her way to speak at GeekGirlCon. The village will serve as the series’ main location.

Appearing on Two Panels During Renowned San Diego Fan Convention in July

Los Angeles, CA – Just when you thought you were safe, Actor/Producer/New Media Maven STEPHANIE THORPE returns for two panels at San Diego Comic-Con 2012, including “The Most Dangerous Women at Comic-Con” on Thursday, July 12th at 5:00pm and “Shelf Life: The Series” on Friday, July 13th at 7:30pm.

“The Most Dangerous Women at Comic-Con” panel will assemble a group of talented female movers and shakers on the convention scene to discuss the success of women in the world of geek fandom. Screen Actors Guild New Media Department Presents The Premiere of Duo Luna Productions’ ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining!

LOS ANGELES (April 1, 2011) — Screen Actors Guild New Media Department presents the premiere of ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining!, Wednesday, April 6 at SAG National Headquarters in Los Angeles. ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining! was created by new media producers/actors Stephanie Thorpe (GOLD: Night of the Zombie King) and Paula Rhodes (A Good Knight’s Quest).

ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining! is a made for new media project based on the comic book series ElfQuest, created by Wendy and Richard Pini in 1978. It is the tale of a tribe of elves who find themselves driven from their forest by humans and must find a new home. It’s known for its magical artistry and for being a vanguard of the indie/fantasy scene.

SAG New Media is hosting the Premiere of ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining! to showcase the quality and professionalism of new media content created by SAG members and SAG signatory producers. Having established a relationship with producers Rhodes and Thorpe, the choice to collaborate with Duo Luna Productions was an easy one for SAG New Media.

“We at SAG New Media are very excited to present the work of some of the most amazing talents in new media today,” said Mark Friedlander, SAG’s national director, new media. “It’s professional producers like Paula and Stephanie that professional actors love to work with. That’s what makes a production great.”

“Paula and I have loved this series since we both were little girls,” Thorpe said, “It showed us how to be heroines, and ultimately inspired us to be creative producers and actors. Thorpe to Appear as Official Panelist Twice at GeekGirlCon This October

ELFQUEST Soars at San Diego’s COMIC-CON

“ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining” Creators, Cast, and Comic Book Originators to Participate in Panel Discussion at Renowned Fan Convention

Los Angeles – Elves are descending on San Diego at Comic-Con International 2011 for the panel ElfQuest: From the Woods to the Web on Friday, July 22nd at 8pm.

New media producers/actors Stephanie Thorpe (GOLD: Night of the Zombie King) and Paula Rhodes (A Good Knight’s Quest) are responsible for the current phenomenon of fan resurgence in the mystical comic book series ElfQuest, created by Wendy and Richard Pini in 1978.

Thorpe and Rhodes collaborated to create the fan-made, non-profit trailer “ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining” which has been earning high praise from the media and enormous fan support since launching in April at the Screen Actors Guild New Media premiere. Lifelong fans of the comic book, Thorpe and Rhodes pulled together their skills and resources, along with a cast of famed ‘women of the web’ and donations from other devoted fans to create the world of Two Moons.

ElfQuest tells the tale of a tribe of elves who find themselves driven from their forest by humans and must find a new home. It’s known for its magical artistry and for being a vanguard of the indie/fantasy scene. Originally self published by the Pini’s, the comic book series was later picked up by Marvel and DC Comics respectively.

Up next, Thorpe and Rhodes are looking at features that resonate with their geek heritage for their next project together. Individually, Rhodes will return to webseries Hollywood Wasteland, while Thorpe is currently working on a sci-fi series with director Andrew Erin (Confined), and a travel/food/fashion show with host Kristyn Burtt. Thorpe is proud to announce 10 episodes of the new series “Shelf Life,” premiering at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. The live action comedy was produced by Thorpe with Yuri Lowenthal (Legion of Superheroes) and Tara Platt (Afterworld) and directed by Eisner Award-winning comic author Paul Jenkins.
