A growing icon in the New Media scene, Stephanie Thorpe is in demand as an expert panelist & speaker, a host and presenter, a writer & producer, content creator, actress and director. Born and raised in Vancouver, Canada, she studied at Oxford and received a Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto. The creator of 150+ episodes of original web content, Thorpe has reached a wide audience with online content views of over 1 million and 50+K followers on twitter. She has been a driving force as an actor and producer in numerous web projects including Whatta Lark! with Monkey Kingdom Productions, the upcoming Baby Doom in 2019 and Casting Doubt with producing partner Paula Rhodes. Stephanie recently secured the rights to the epic biography of a WWI nurse trapped behind enemy lines, and is developing a new international lifestyle series, Fashion, Food & Fandom with Ultimatum Entertainment. Thorpe has been a recurring panelist on such WonderCon and SDCC hits as Spark Your Creativity in 2014, 2016 and 2018, and The Most Dangerous Women at Comic-Con in 2015. She was interviewed by Comic-Con HQ’s livestream at SDCC 2016.

Thorpe produced, directed and wrote three episodes for Crypt TV (CRYPTTV.COM) in 2017. She appeared in two documentaries about geek culture in 2015, Everything Doesn’t Suck and Fanarchy, alongside Leonard Maltin, Denise Crosby, Richard Hatch, and many others. Fanarchy appeared on Epix, Netflix USA, HBO Canada, and at Fan Expo Canada’s GeekFest Film Festival and Halcon 2015. An invited judge and presenter at the 2015 Geekie Awards, she was also thrilled to present the award for Best Variety Series at the 2015 IAWTV Awards. Stephanie returned as a presenter at the IAWTV Awards in October 2017 and 2018.

Thorpe produced & starred in The Ladies & The Gents, which premiered to rave reviews and was showcased at the Big Screen Little Screen event held at SAG (THELADIESANDTHEGENTS.COM). The Ladies & The Gents was honored with a nomination at the Indie Series Awards and a win at the 2014 LA Web Fest. She was thrilled to be a judge and presenter at the 2014 IAWTV Awards show at CES in Vegas, where her hit series Pairings (PAIRINGSTHESERIES.COM) was nominated in three categories. Pairings was also honored with a nomination at the Indie Soap Opera Awards. Stephanie produces & stars in new series, Slumber Con(SLUMBERCON.COM).

Thorpe’s series Shelf Life wrapped its 4th season with an award nom at the 1st Annual Geekie Awards, where she was an invited judge & presenter at the gala ceremony. Shelf Life is now available on DVD at (SHELFLIFESERIES.COM)  and streams on (STAREABLE.COM).

She starred in the Parsec Award-winning GOLD spin-off Night of the Zombie King (GOLDTHESERIES.COM), for which she was nominated Best Supporting Actress by IndieIntertube in 2011 & 2012. She starred in the critically acclaimed After Judgment, Asylum, Babelgum’s Hurtling Through Space, Tyler Mane’s The Mane Show, and garnered Best Actress in a Drama at the NYFilmFest. Recent guest spots include appearances on the cooking shows Eat.Taste.Live and Sci-Fi Dining.

Thorpe hit the front page of Variety with producing partner Paula Rhodes when they acquired the film/TV rights to the ElfQuest franchise in 2012. They first gained attention for their award-winning cyber-phenom, ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining (ELFQUESTFANTRAILER.COM). This crowd-sourced production launched at WonderCon 2011 and was followed by a gala in LA hosted by The Screen Actors Guild. Over 27, 000 viewers watched the livestream and the site has had over 500,000+ hits since April 5th 2011. She was honored in 2011 to speak on panels at WonderCon and San Diego’s Comic-Con about her production, and also appeared on ElfQuest panels at SDCC and WonderCon in 2013 and 2014. Honors for this project include Best Trailer at the 2011 IndieIntertube Awards, the Shorty Award at BaltiCon, the Silver Prestige Award at the Prestige Film Award Festival, Best Director of a Webisode at the IFQ Film & Webisode Festival, and an Award of Merit from the Best Shorts Film Festival. ElfQuest: A Fan Imagining was also an Official Selection at the Renovation Film Festival, the Phoenix Comicon Film Festival, Dragon*Con 2012, the St. Louis International Film Festival, Creative Arts Film Fest & the Philip K. Dick Science Fiction Film Festival. This production continues to receive awards and accolades from film festivals, conventions and the media with over 100 articles and interviews to date.

Stephanie continues to mentor and speak at events around the country, appearing on panels at WonderCon and San Diego’s Comic-Con, Comikaze, GeekGirlCon, and Emerald City Comic Con. She was thrilled to partner with WeLoveFine and Bedali Jewelry to create geeky-themed T-shirt and jewelry lines. She was honored to be the inspiration for Scarlet Witch T-shirts designed by Karen Hallion from  WELOVEFINE.COM.
